Orange Alert

Graduate School Search

If you are considering graduate school, there are several key questions to ask yourself:

  • What type of program would you like to pursue and why?
  • What ultimate careers or jobs are you interested in?
  • What are the admissions requirements for programs of interest?

Part of answering the above questions involves research into options, programs of interest, and admissions criteria. Utilize resources like US News and World Report, Peterson’s, Professional Associations and Graduate School resources via CAS/MAX Career Roadmaps. In additions to programs of interest, schools of interest, and admissions criteria, it is recommended to research the academic curriculum and admissions deadlines.

In the graduate school search process, several pieces are often required in the application process:

  • A professional resume or CV outlining previous and relevant experiences
  • Recommendations from faculty and/or former supervisors who can speak to your work
  • Academic transcripts from Syracuse and any other institution(s) you may have attended
  • Personal Statement based on a provided prompt, that often may involve outlining your background and interests in the program
  • Examinations scores from such tests as the GRE, MCAT, LSAT, or GMAT
