Certificate of Excellence
The International Student Certificate of Excellence (LinkedIn badge) or Engagement Certificate (LinkedIn badge) gives first-year international students the ability to systematically navigate and learn Syracuse University’s academic requirements and expectations, to ensure a successful college transition and ultimately academic success.
Benefits of Receiving the Certificate of Excellence
- A permanent award record in your LinkedIn profile and resume
- Receive recommendations for career immersion programs, research opportunities, scholarship applications and others.
To earn the certificate, students must fulfill the following requirements.
Part I: SU International Student Success Catapult Program (SU-ISSC) - Milestone
- Complete the required assignments by SU-ISSC in Blackboard before the fall semester (1st semester) starts.
- Attend A&S international student orientation during the opening weekend.
Part II: Peer Mentor Program
- Attend at least 8 of the 13 weekly meetings with their Peer Mentor and other mentees during the 1st semester.
- Attend at least one on-campus or off-campus event organized by their Peer Mentor during the 1st semester.
Part III: First Term GPA
- Students with a GPA of 3.0 and above will receive an International Student Certificate of Excellence
- Students with a GPA of 2.0 to 2.99 will receive an International Student Engagement Certificate
SU Scholarship and Research Funding
