Tej K. Bhatia is a Professor of Linguistics and Director of South Asian Languages in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics. He recently served as guest-editor for the Journal of the International Association for World Englishes. The edited volume, World Englishes and Cross-Cultural Advertising, features 16 articles, which examine theory, best practices, and new trends in global advertising. His three articles explored the characteristics and dynamics of language mixing, religion, and emotions used by global advertisers to reach their super-diverse consumers.
