STUDENT LEADERSHIP

Peer Mentor Program for International Students
Join our peer mentoring program to develop leadership competencies and grow professionally.

Peer Educator – Barnes Center at The Arch
Support your campus community, build your resume and apply to be a Peer Educator today! Positions are paid and topic highlights include substance use education, mental health, and healthy relationships and sexual health.

College of Arts and Sciences|Maxwell Dean’s Team

The Deans’ Team is a group of student ambassadors who serve as a fantastic representation of the College of Arts and Sciences | Maxwell School. While Deans’ Team members come from different majors, states, countries, backgrounds, and more, they all bleed Orange.

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH

Undergraduate research and creative activity happen in every corner of campus, and many programs have long promoted student engagement in the research mission of Syracuse University. The following are some programs and collaborators that engage with and support undergraduate research; additional programs are available in each school or college.

The SOURCE

Syracuse University’s central research hub. The SOURCE can help students identify the initiatives that fit their interests and goals.

Center for Fellowship & Scholarship Advising (CFSA)
Promotes and supports nationally competitive fellowship and scholarship opportunities; helps students and alumni identify opportunities appropriate to their interests and backgrounds and assists them through all stages of the application process.

Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP)
Provides academic enrichment and research experience STEM areas, including supervised training in research methods, graduate/professional school admissions preparation, standardized test preparation, and personal and professional development activities.

Alumni Connections Program

Hundreds of alumni have extended opportunities for Arts and Sciences and Maxwell students to connect with them for one-hour career conversations via video chat or phone. Each one is a valuable opportunity for you to gain career advice, networking experience, and industry knowledge.

Art History Immersive Experiences

Faculty regularly organize field trips to New York City to network with curators and other cultural heritage professionals, many of whom are alumni of the Art & Music Histories program

College of Arts & Sciences Engaged Humanities Network

The EHN is open to all. Scholars, teachers, students, artists, and community leaders who make up the network apply their knowledge and skills to serve the public good and develop relationships of trust and mutual support across communities.

EDGE Co-Curricular Certification

Anew certification offered by the College of Arts and Sciences | Maxwell School. The goal is to give you a competitive edge post-graduation by supercharging your academics with the complementary co-curricular certification.

Immersion Trips

Open to all majors within A&S|Maxwell - Immersion programs empower students to explore career options and make informed decisions. Winston Fisher, Stocks & Finance, Psychology, and International Student immersion trips are available.

Intelligence Community Center of Academic Excellence (ICCAE)

Offers undergraduate and graduate students unique coursework as well as programmatic and training opportunities to prepare for professional positions in any of the 17 agencies of the U.S. Intelligence Community.

LaunchPad
Connects the campus innovation ecosystem with a global network that provides support for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Lender Center for Social Justice
Aspires to foster proactive, innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to issues related to social justice, equity, and inclusion. Supports student fellows to collaborate on a faculty-led research project.

Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP)
Dedicated to increasing the number of underrepresented students graduating with baccalaureate degrees in the STEM fields by providing research support.

McNair Scholars Program
Prepares high-achieving undergraduate students for graduate/doctoral studies with hands-on research, academic services, and scholarly activities.

Maxwell in Washington

Research, learn and network with a tight-knit community of faculty, students and alumni dedicated to serving each other and the public good. Gain valuable experience to fuel your career—in D.C. or on the global stage. Engage with experts and advisors who can help you map your future and then light your way.

New York State Assembly Internship

The Assembly Session Internship is a comprehensive academic program which gives qualified students the chance to work in the New York State Assembly.

NEXIS
Student-run team exploring emerging technologies through innovative and collaborative research projects to develop real business applications.

Pre-Health Engagement Certificate

Gives students the ability to define the steps taken to prepare for a career in the health professions through advising, professional school discussions, research presentations, community engagement, and clinical volunteering.

Renée Crown University Honors Program
Supports high-achieving students from all disciplines with a challenging curriculum and support through a thesis project.

Shaw Center
Engages students and faculty by providing institutional leadership for experiential learning through community engagement to enhance academic learning objectives, research and the student experience.

Syracuse Abroad
International study programs that prepare students to imagine the world differently with invaluable internships, Signature Seminars, language study at all levels, homestays, and community engagement projects.

Women in Science and Engineering (WISE)
Supports the recruitment, persistence, and advancement of women in STEM with research-based strategies and an active community of mentors and peers.
