Maya Ostoin (Applied Mathematics and Computer Science major) has been chosen to be a WiSE summer research scholar for 2019. Syracuse University WiSE programs foster current and future success of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Maya's summer research will be jointly supported by WiSE and by the NSF grant of Minghao Rostami.
Xinxuan Wang (Mathematics major) is the 2019 Archimedes Prize winner. This prize is awarded annually by the Department in recognition of outstanding achievements in undergraduate mathematics.
Xuerui Yang (Mathematics major) represented Syracuse University at the 2019 ACC Meeting of the Minds conference which took place at University of Louisville on March 29-31, 2019. This annual conference showcases undergraduate research at the 15 Atlantic Coast Conference schools. Xuerui presented his paper on Fourier Series of Circle Embeddings.
Jinyang Zhou (Applied Mathematics major) is the 2019 Euclid Prize winner. This prize is awarded annually by the Department to the most promising mathematics majors who are not graduating in the year of the award.
