A&S Units, Centers and Initiatives
We celebrate and support the heritage and experiences of all students, faculty and staff through many projects and centers. Following are some areas that you are invited to explore, do research in or get involved with.

The Community Folk Art Center, a vibrant cultural and artistic hub committed to the promotion and development of artists of the African Diaspora.

Collaborative High Impact Activities in Natural Science Education (CHANcE) works to create an inclusive environment for students from groups underrepresented in STEM fields.

The Center for Global Indigenous Cultures and Environmental Justice works across traditional disciplinary boundaries to facilitate research and student engagement opportunities in cultural heritage preservation and language revitalization, defending political sovereignty, and climate change and the environment.

The MLK, Jr. Library reflects the African American Studies curriculum while illuminating the culture and life of Black people often excluded or limited in treatment within traditional academic libraries.

The Psychology Research Initiative in Diversity Enhancement (PRIDE) program is a summer research experience for undergraduate majors, while the Diversifying Psychology Day is a venue for talented minority students to network with faculty and graduate students in Psychology and get the scoop on the graduate student experience.

The Strategic Undergraduate STEM Talent Accelerations Initiative (SUSTAIN) helps talented students from underrepresented groups find their passion in the sciences, engineering and math--and stay on track through a dedicated support network and robust learning opportunities.

La Casita Cultural Center is a space where Hispanic and Latino people can gather, celebrate their culture and traditions, host events or simply enjoy each other's company.

Syracuse University’s gateway to cultural interaction and partnerships with Hispanic communities across the campus and the Central New York region, the Office of Cultural Engagement for the Hispanic Community's mission is to enhance the student experience through collegial alliances, human capital building and cross-cultural immersion.
