Oksana Kazmina ’24 has created beautiful art in collaboration with the BioImaging center. Her artwork entitled “We Are All Here to Rot” features magnified DIC images of her own bacteria. Kazmina collaborated with Professors Boryana Rossa and Heidi Henley to grow her own bacteria on plates and then utilized the BioImaging center’s Widefield system to capture images for her art. The bacterial lawns she imaged resemble the war-ravaged landscapes of her homeland.
