On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, historian and former curator of the Onondaga Historical Association Dennis Connors gave a gallery talk focused on the newly opened exhibition "A Stirring Song Sung Heroic: African Americans From Slavery To Freedom, 1619 to 1865."

Dennis Connors served as executive director of the Onondaga Historical Association from 1992-1999. Previously, he was the Supervisor of Historic Resources for Onondaga County Parks where he oversaw operations for the Salt Museum, Pioneer Museum and Sainte Marie Among the Iroquois Mission Site Museum.
