Congratulations to Dr. Gerard Martin ’78, recipient of the 2021 Master of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) designation. The award recognizes and honors a limited number of ACC fellows each year who have contributed to the goals and programs of the College and provided leadership. Awardees will be recognized at the ACC’s annual Scientific Session and Expo in May.
Martin, who received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of Arts and Sciences, is a leading cardiologist at the Children’s National Health System. He is an advocate for congenital heart disease (CHD) efforts nationally and internationally, and has served as a volunteer on medical missions to developing countries. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a member of the Society for Pediatric Research and the American Board of Pediatrics.
