Congratulations to Andy Ridgeway, this year's Engaged Humanities Graduate Research Assistant, who recently received a $10,000 Humanities New York Action Grant for the North Side Learning Center Speech and Debate Team.

Ridgeway will use the funding to start a speech and debate program to give under-served middle and high school students in the Syracuse City School District an opportunity to study the art of rhetoric, compete at virtual tournaments, and host public debate events for the Syracuse community.
