Congrats to Lydia Ells-McLaughlin, a WRT 105 student, whose essay, “Why We Need to Stop Calling the Jonestown Victims Naïve,” has been published on Medium: Read and write stories. . Her instructor,  Kate Hanzalik, says, “Her piece offers a sophisticated retelling of a horrifying past, correcting common misperceptions about a massacre's victims while teaching readers ‘how to recognize and stop harmful manipulation.’  Her persuasive argument draws on two months of analytical reading, research, and rhetorical writing on discourse communities in WRT 105 this semester.”
