Diane Lyden Murphy Bread and Roses Award for Activism on Behalf of Women, Trans and Nonconforming People
The Diane Lyden Murphy Bread and Roses Award for Activism on Behalf of Women, Trans and Nonconforming People honors a member of the Syracuse University community whose work or scholarship exemplifies the spirit of Dr. Murphy's activism. Diane Lyden Murphy recently retired as the Dean of the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. She was the director of the Women’s Studies Program from 1988 to 2005. The activist work may take many forms such as art and community activism, curriculum innovation, policy improvement, research and writing, in addition to the recognition of creativity in activism.
