Dana Lloyd will be joining the John C. Danforth Center on Religion and Politics at Washington University in Saint Louis as a postdoctoral fellow for 2018-2020. Dana is a PhD candidate in the Department of Religion, preparing to defend her dissertation, entitled “From Religious Freedom to Indigenous Sovereignty: The Case of Lyng v. Northwest Indian Cemetery Protective Association,” advised by Dr. Phil Arnold. Dana holds a law degree, an LL.M., and an M.A. in philosophy from Tel Aviv University. As a postdoctoral fellow at the Danforth Center she is planning to expand her research on law and religion, and to write about the relationship between Indigenous sovereignty, religious freedom, and environmental justice. In her next research project, entitled “A Political Theology of Domesticity,” she brings together law, literature, and Indigenous feminism to explore and critique what feminist scholars and activists have termed "the domesticity regime."
