Lauren Cooper (she/her) is a Ph.D. candidate and teaching associate at Syracuse University where she specializes in British Romanticism with a focus on ecocriticism and gender. She is currently working on her dissertation which examines the way the climatic conditions of the period are represented within Romantic literature and art. Her article, “John Clare’s ‘Lament of Swordy Well’ as Wasteland” was published in the 2021 summer issue of The Wordsworth Circle. She is the recipient of several awards from Syracuse University to support her dissertation research as well as a New York State Public Humanities Grant and the 2021 Leonard Brown Prize in poetry.
