Arianna Taylor is a PhD student whose research interests include Race & Ethnic Studies, African-American Literature and Women's & Gender Studies. Her research has been primarily focused on African-American contemporary romance literature written by Black women and the ways in which independent publishing provides space for Black women to document Black culture in real time. She hopes to develop ways to look at literature through an intersectional lens as the representation within novels written by marginalized identities contradict hegemonic representations of people and reconstruct images anew. She is also an African-American Studies External Fellow for 2023-2024.
