David Althoff, associate professor of biology, was interviewed by ABC News for an article titled, After Eclipse: Nature's next big show — cicada double emergence. The story explained how the simultaneous emergence of two cicada broods will result in trillions of cicadas surfacing across much of America.
Althoff said there will be a slow buildup into May and that people can expect to hear them once the adults begin to surface.
"...It's pretty fantastic to see this many insects that have been hidden in the ground that emerge all at once," Althoff said in the article.
