Undergraduate Programs in Art and Music History
The History of Architecture B.A. and Fine Arts B.A. are available to students matriculated Fall 2025 or earlier. Students who matriculated later can consider the Art History B.A., which will soon become “Art and Architectural History” (pending approval), the Fine Arts minor or History of Architecture minor.

B.A. in Art History
The B.A. degree in Art History prepares students to write, speak, and analyze art and visual culture, preparing them for a wide range of careers in such sectors as museums, galleries and the art market, education, cultural heritage and cultural management.
Minor in Art History

B.A. in History of Architecture

The major in History of Architecture explores the history of styles and monuments. It also provides you with a rich and nuanced understanding of how humanity has interacted with the environment by constructing buildings and cities and by manipulating the landscape, under different social, political, technological and economic circumstances.

B.A. in Fine Arts
The Fine Arts B.A. is available only to students matriculated Fall 2025 or earlier. Fine Arts minor is available to all students.
The Fine Arts major allows students to draw from both art history and music history courses, as well as studio art and music lessons or ensembles, in crafting the specific concentration of their major.
Minor in Fine Arts
The minor in Fine Arts requires coursework drawn from any combination of the department’s constitutive disciplines (art history, music history, and history of architecture).
