Congratulations to Art History major Jaden Dagenais for the publication of a debut blog post in the Everson Museum of Art’s Object of the Week series: Over the Rainbow by Louis Marak.
According to AMH alum and Everson curatorial assistant Steffi Chappell (M.A. ’15), “The Object of the Week series on the Everson Museum Blog highlights works in the Everson’s collection that are also currently on display in an exhibition at the Museum. Each post discusses the artist, their biography and artistic practice, and the significance of their work. The series provides readers with the chance to learn about works in the Museum’s collection, hopefully inspiring them to make a visit to the Museum and see those works in person. The series is also a way to share the Everson collection with those that are unable to visit the Museum; they can browse through the more than one hundred Object of the Week posts published since 2018 and learn about paintings, prints, photographs, videos, and more.
Curatorial interns, many of them undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Art & Music Histories, play an integral role in writing Object of the Week posts. Over the past four years, interns have been responsible for a majority of the published posts!”
