Music History and Cultures alum Samantha Skaller '17 finished her M.A program in musicology with a concentration in gender, sexuality and feminist studies at McGill University. After finishing her master’s thesis entitled: “The Protest Music of Nina Simone and Buffy Sainte-Marie: Trauma, Gender-Based Violence, and Minority Feminisms” she began working full-time for the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault. Sam is the Campus Coordinator at the NYC Alliance Against Sexual Assault where she gives workshops, teaches classes, and provides trainings to various college and university communities in New York City. Sam is so grateful to be able to combine her passions for music and sexual violence prevention in her new role! Woohoo for Sam!
