Last week, Prof. Sarah Fuchs Sampson traveled to Utrecht to participate in the “Material Cultures of Musical Notation” conference at Utrecht University. Her paper, “‘As Sung by Signor Velluti’: Print Culture and Creative Provenance in Late 1820s London,” explored the piano-vocal publications produced after the soprano castrato Velluti visited London for the first time in 1825, including the one featured in this PowerPoint slide, “Cara mano dell’amore.”
