Art and Music of the Americas
The artistic and musical cultures of South, Central, and North America speak to a diverse range of historical and contemporary experiences, including those of indigenous peoples, colonial settlers, enslaved peoples, citizens, and immigrants. Our faculty engages with varied cultural responses to these experiences by positioning visual, sonic, and material culture in their historical and political contexts and by attending to cultural dialogues across media, space, and time.
