Greetings! I’m Rishita, an international student from India pursuing a double major in Biomedical Engineering through the College of Engineering and Computer Science and Chemistry through the College of Arts and Sciences, made possible by the Coronat Scholarship Program.

Beyond academics, I’m deeply involved in campus life and currently serve as the Secretary of the Society of Women Engineers. My passion for research began during my first semester at Syracuse, leading me to pursue projects at the BioInspired Institute as well as research in the Biocomputation Lab. Through opportunities such as the SOURCE Fellowship, SOURCE Explore, and the Honors Academic Enhancement Award, I’ve been fortunate to expand my research experiences beyond Syracuse and pursue research opportunities in Japan, Germany, and South Korea during my summers.

Mentorship and community-building also hold a special place in my heart. I have served as a Resident Advisor for the STM Living Learning Community for the past two consecutive years and am currently in my third year in the role. I also serve as a SOURCE Peer Mentor, where I have the opportunity to support students as they navigate research and other academic opportunities. These experiences have been instrumental in my own personal and professional growth, and I’m excited to continue paying that forward by connecting with and supporting fellow students.
