Job Preparedness for the Liberal Arts and Sciences
The CareerReady Program
In today’s hyper-competitive job market, prospective students and their families are more focused than ever on college value and return on this important investment. The College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) is committed to providing students with both a strong liberal arts education and the tools to launch successful careers after graduation.
An Innovative Approach to Advising
Higher education has been slow to offer holistic career programming. But at A&S, we integrate it into the undergraduate experience, making a Syracuse degree that much more valuable. Our integrated academic and
career advising model has been setting the standard nationally and earning recognition for excellence by organizations such as the National Academic Advising Association.
CareerReady is our latest step in advising innovation. Launched in 2024, this scaffolded career readiness program provides a sequence of high-value opportunities for students, from year one through graduation.
More than 2,000 students already participate in CareerReady programs. CareerReady is transforming job preparedness for our students.

Help Create Transformative Experiences
Our goal is to raise an additional $100,000 annually, which could double the number of students able to participate in CareerReady programming and get even closer to supporting all 5,000 of our undergraduates. Your gift will help us ensure that every student graduates ready for their career of choice by providing:
Support for Career Immersion Trips
Career immersion trips help students see themselves in different fields. You can help cover costs associated with these trips such as transportation, food and lodging.
Internship Support
National data show that students who had an internship receive double the job offers of those who did not. Many internships are unpaid or minimally paid. You can help bridge the gap during these crucial experiences.
Job Connections
When we connect students with alumni, the possibilities are endless. Your support will help us ensure students have the resources they need to engage in job shadowing, informational interviews and in-person mentoring.
New On-campus Recruitment Program
At A&S’s new career fairs, each semester we connect strong candidates with companies who value liberal arts graduates from Syracuse University.
