Vito Hired as Associate Director of Alumni Giving

Vito moves to A&S from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where she served as a development and alumni engagement associate.

Ali Vito G’25 has joined the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) as associate director of alumni giving. In this role, she will lead strategy and execution for annual giving, donor relations, stewardship, events and alumni engagement programming such as Alumni Academy virtual classes. She will also help plan and manage the Dean’s Advisory Board meetings each semester.

Vito moves to A&S from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where she served as a development and alumni engagement associate since 2022. At Newhouse, she played a central role in supporting the school’s advancement efforts, providing administrative aid to the assistant dean for advancement as well as coordinating travel, expenses and communications for the development team. Vito helped spearhead the digitalization of the Newhouse Professional Gallery Wall in which it transformed from picture frames on a wall to four digital touch screens allowing guests to interact with notable alumni.

Instrumental in the execution of alumni events both on campus and across the country, she additionally led outreach efforts for the Newhouse Advisory Board. Vito also helped manage the Newhouse Alumni Professional Gallery and monitored the school’s shared communications channels. Her leadership in the Class Act initiative helped increase student philanthropy, reaching not only residential students but also students in the online communications master’s program. Vito additionally contributed to the planning and development of the Newhouse Network Magazine, including compiling data for the Donor Honor Roll.

“I’m excited to dive in and learn about the incredible initiatives within the College of Arts and Sciences,” Vito says. “I look forward to connecting with alumni and supporting the meaningful work happening across the College.”

Vito holds a master’s degree in communications with a focus on media management from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Cazenovia College, where she was a member of the equestrian team. When she’s not working, she is riding her horse, Sunny, or spending time with her friends and family. Vito is an avid sports fan who bleeds Orange, cheers on the Buffalo Bills and attends NHL games when the Tampa Bay Lightning come to town.

Prior to joining Syracuse University, she held administrative roles at Dermody, Burke & Brown CPAs, LLC, where she supported tax and pension planning operations, and at HITS Inc., where she coordinated logistics for national horse shows and served as a liaison between officials and management.
