A&S Welcomes New Students with Annual Department Fair and Reception
The event is an opportunity to greet first-year and transfer students and introduce them to the programs and departments offered by A&S | Maxwell.
The College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) and the Maxwell School celebrated Syracuse Welcome 2023 with their annual department fair and reception inside the iconic JMA Wireless Dome.
The event began with opening remarks provided by new A&S Dean Behzad Mortazavi and Maxwell School Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Carol Faulkner, welcoming new students to campus and getting them prepared for the year ahead. Following the Deans’ welcome, incoming students were greeted with an information expo where they had the opportunity to explore the wide variety of programs offered by A&S | Maxwell, get to know their professors and advisors, and even engage with interactive educational exhibits. As an added treat, students and their families enjoyed a delicious catered brunch on the turf field.
Everyone’s favorite orange and new Mascot Hall of Famer, Otto, stopped by to meet the newest crop of A&S | Maxwell students.
A&S Dean Behzad Mortazavi introduced himself to incoming students and their families, and even took the time to pose for a few photos.
Plenty of interesting activities were available during this year’s department fair, including this opportunity for students to discover their inner poet at the Department of English's table.
