The Department of Art and Music Histories (AMH) in Syracuse University’s College of Arts and Sciences, the Sotheby’s Institute of Art (SIA), and SUArt Galleries are co-presenting an information session about professional opportunities in the art world on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 4 p.m. in the Shaffer Art Building.

Free and open to Syracuse students, the event is co-organized by Romita Ray, associate professor of art history in AMH, and Anupama Charavartii, assistant director of admissions at SIA. For more information, email at Charavartii at a.chakravartti@sia.edu

“The University is thrilled to partner with the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, which has trained many of our students, who, in turn, have gone on to successful teaching and curatorial careers,” Ray says. “That they initially contacted us about doing an information session has been viewed as both an honor and an opportunity.”

For almost half a century, SIA has provided graduate and undergraduate education for art world professionals, with campuses in London, New York, and Los Angeles.
