Fictional movie character Ferris Bueller is famous for saying: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” The same is true of college. The four years most students spend as undergraduates at Syracuse University can seem to happen in the blink of an eye.

That’s why the College of Arts and Sciences is encouraging students to make the most of their time at Syracuse by preparing for life after graduation.

On Tuesday, Nov. 11, students are invited to participate in “Get Hired: Pump Up the Power of You and Your Liberal Arts Degree!,” a conversation designed to help them translate their liberal arts education into career success. The event will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the Life Sciences Complex Auditorium and is open to all students enrolled (singularly and jointly) in the College. Presented by Linda Dulye ’77, a world-leader in work-place communication and engagement, as well as the creator of Syracuse’s acclaimed Dulye Leadership Experience, the program will help students: 

• Craft their career story
• Position their liberal arts education as a “positive” for prospective employers
• Prepare for job interviews
• Overcome career-search challenges

The president and founder of a change-management consultancy in Warwick, New York, Dulye will cover these and other topics in an engaging, interactive forum.
