Sample Required and Elective Courses for the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Language Teaching

12 credits of study: three required courses and one elective course. The required courses provide essential grounding in the mechanics of language, a foundation in language teaching methodology, and a supervised teaching practicum. The elective course will enable students to specialize in an area of professional interest.
