Biographic Overview

Kathryn Gilmore is a writer from Memphis, Tennessee. She earned her BA from Boston College in English with a concentration in creative writing. There, she received various honors for her writing and academics including the 2024 Dever Fellowship. She is now pursuing her MFA in poetry at Syracuse University. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Gulf Coast Journal, Post Road Magazine, Barnstorm Journal, The Madison Review, Gulf Stream Magazine, et al. In both her writing and her everyday life, she is concerned with myth and folklore, the Mississippi River, kudzu, dreams, extinct creatures and fossils, the fluid landscape of memory, and grief— especially grief.
