Biographic Overview
Edison Hicks (he/they) is a poet from New Jersey and is not as serious as he looks. His work explores the relationship between the mundane and the extravagant, the peaceful and the harmful. He uses dramatic first-person narrative, confessional lyricism, and humor in the face of trauma. He holds a BA from Bennington College where he studied literature, improv, and music theory. They were a finalist for the 2024 Dawn Prize for Poetry, and their work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. When not engaging with his responsibilities, he enjoys listening to indie pop, painting his nails, spending time with his friends and family, and taking showers.
