M.S. in Biomedical Forensic Science
Program Overview
- The M.S. in Biomedical Forensic Science is a 36-credit pre-medical post-baccalaureate program intended for students who wish to enhance their academic credentials for admission to medical school.
- The degree is very well suited for careers in forensic pathology, toxicology, or other areas of medicine.
Admission Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants with a lower GPA may be considered based on other strengths, such as relevant coursework, research, internship experience, or grade improvement over time.
- This program requires an undergraduate degree in a chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physics, or forensic science and must include at least:
- two semesters of general chemistry
- at least one semester of calculus or statistics
- at least one of the following:
- at least two semesters of general biology which includes the co-requisites laboratory (minimum of 7 semester hours)
- at least two semesters of organic chemistry which includes the co-requisites laboratory (minimum of 7 semester hours), or
- at least two semesters of physics, which includes the co-requisite laboratories (minimum of 7 semester hours).
