We are pleased to announce the launch of Philosophy Lab, a departmental initiative aimed at bringing philosophy to Syracuse city schools. Nikki Fortier, Tighe Gugerty, Kellan Head, and Adam Patterson will be leading our pilot sessions at Ed Smith Elementary this fall. PHILOSOPHY LAB
Philosophy Lab helps students critically engage with the world around them. Led by members of SU's Philosophy Department, it offers spaces and strategies for students to raise questions and discuss ideas that matter to them. Topics might include:

• What distinguishes knowledge from mere opinion? - What makes me the person I am?
• How should we determine what rules to live by?
• How should we treat animals?
