Sights and Sounds: Welcome Week 2026

Incoming A&S | Maxwell students spent their first days on campus getting to know Syracuse, from move-in through their first meeting with faculty and staff.

The 2026 edition of Welcome Week brought a new class of first-year students to campus. This year, the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) and the Maxwell School marked the occasion with a fresh twist on their annual welcome event: Find Your Orange Path.

Set up on the Quad, the event featured a trail of three tents, each staffed by faculty and advisors ready to talk through academic and cultural life at A&S | Maxwell. Students set their own pace along the path, stopping for light refreshments and a few hands-on presentations before leaving with an even clearer sense of all that A&S | Maxwell has to offer.

There was plenty for new students to experience at A&S | Maxwell’s Find Your Orange Path event.

At the Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric and Composition’s table, students took a quiz to discover how writing could shape their future.
