The College appoints new development officers

Paul Brenner and David Bartell appointed

The College of Arts and Sciences Office of Advancement announces the appointment of Paul Brenner as senior director of development and David Bartell as director of development.
 
Brenner, former assistant dean for development in SU’s School of Information Studies (iSchool), joined the University’s Office of Major Gifts in 2001 and briefly contributed to the Whitman School of Management Office of Development before accepting an appointment, in 2002, as chief development officer for the iSchool.  Prior to coming to SU, Brenner served in Cornell University’s Lab of Ornithology and Office of Corporate Relations.  He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and a master’s in business administration both from Cornell University. His two daughters are students in The College of Arts and Sciences.

Bartell holds a bachelor’s degree in history from LeMoyne College and a master’s degree in education from the State University of New York at Oswego. Prior to coming to Syracuse University, he spent six years in sales in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, most recently with the Pfizer Corporation and LabCorp.  Bartell spent his early career on the faculties of the Westhill Central School district and Christian Brothers Academy.  He is the president and founder of Team Believe, a local running team that raises funds for local charities and served as the president of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Syracuse.  He lives in Baldwinsville with his wife, Jennifer, and two daughters.
