Tasneem Hamead is a PhD student whose interests lie in film, postcoloniality, gender, and race. Her research is largely centred around identity, nation and the global south. In addition, she draws on trauma, war, riot, memory, and semiotics in her work that is predominantly interdisciplinary. The focus of Tasneem’s recent work has been on the Muslim (woman) as the other (re)emerging as the blight of the state in times of crisis, particularly in the performance of addressing the crisis of the moment.
