Brennan Sprague
- English
Biographic Overview
Brennan Sprague is a poet from Rochester, NY who hesitates to signify themselves as one, for as Louise Glück once said, “Poet must be used cautiously; it names an aspiration, not an occupation.” He received an AA in Creative Writing from Monroe Community College, a BS in English - Creative Writing from SUNY Brockport, and is now an MFA candidate in Poetry at Syracuse University. He is wildly interested in exploring the transcendent quotidian, aiming for his work to hit in the deceptively simple way a pop song does. He was the recipient of the inaugural MJ Iuppa Poetry Prize, as well as being an Adroit Prize finalist and Best of the Net nominee. His work appears in Jet Fuel Review, Schlag Magazine, The Adroit Journal, Afternoon Visitor, Glass, and Vallum Magazine. To learn more about his work, his website can be found at: brennansprague.com.
