Two of Syracuse University's own recieved prestigeous awards this month! Audiology Associate Professor, Dr. Kathy Vander Werff received the 2019 Excellence in Graduate Education Faculty Recognition Award from the Chancellor in a ceremony on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
Additionally, dual doctorate candidate in Audiology, Chris Niemczak, received the competitive 2019 PHD Scholarship from the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD) for $20,000.00. The Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD) is committed to addressing the Ph. D. shortage in communication sciences and disorders. To this end, CAPCSD will address a salient factor influencing the Ph. D. pipeline: time to degree completion. CAPCSD announces a scholarship program for students pursuing a research doctoral degree (i.e., Ph. D.) focused on an academic career in communication sciences and disorders.
