Professor Theo Cateforis concludes his two-year term this spring as the president of the International Association for the Study of Popular Music – U.S. Branch (IASPM-US). This semester has been especially busy as IASPM-US (like many other academic societies) have been preparing their first ever virtual conference, taking place May 18-22. In June, professor Cateforis will be presenting a virtual research paper, “Medicalizing the 1990s: Alternative Rock and the Rise of Prozac Nation,” at the annual meeting of the Society for American Music.
