As we wrap up another action-packed semester here at the College of Arts and Sciences, I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt compliments to each and every one of you.
To our students: Congratulations on successfully navigating another challenging semester. Those of you who are graduating this weekend started in a different kind of challenging time—the COVID pandemic. All of us here in A&S applaud your perseverance and your success today.
To those students who will be returning in August: Your commitment to your studies, your curiosity and your eagerness to learn have also truly shone through. Whether heading off to a well-deserved break, or diving into summer internships and research opportunities, I look forward to seeing you next fall. You are the heartbeat of our community, and bring a contagious enthusiasm to all that we do here in A&S.
To our faculty and staff: Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to our students' success. Your passion for teaching, guiding, supporting and promoting our students is the driving force behind their growth and development. While your hard work often happens behind the scenes, please know that it is absolutely vital to our community’s success. I hope you take some time during the summer months to recharge and rejuvenate, knowing that your contributions are deeply appreciated.
No matter what is next for you, I encourage you to recognize your achievements, cherish the memories you've made and take care of yourselves and those around you. Use the summer to recalibrate and refocus and be ready for whatever is next after your break. Thank you once again for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. It is because of each one of you that A&S continues to thrive as a vibrant community of scholars and learners.
