Congratulations to M.F.A. graduate student Ariel Chu on being selected as a 2020-21 Luce Scholar. Out of 165 candidates nominated by 70 colleges and universities across the U.S., only 18 were chosen through an intense, three-month-long selection process. According to the Henry Luce Foundation, the Luce Scholars Program is a nationally competitive fellowship program aimed at enhancing the understanding of Asia among potential leaders in American society. Through program stipends and language training, Chu will travel to Asia to represent Syracuse University. She will be exposed to individualized professional settings geared towards creative writing.
