Cheryl Strayed G’02, author of the number one New York Times bestselling memoir “Wild,” and New York Times bestsellers: “Tiny Beautiful Things,” “Brave Enough” and “Torch ,” will make a visit to Syracuse as part of the YMCA's Downtown Writers Center 20th anniversary season celebration. Strayed earned an MFA in creative writing at the College of Arts and Sciences. Her memoir “Wild” was chosen by Oprah Winfrey as the first selection for Oprah’s Book Club 2.0 and the movie adaptation starring Reese Witherspoon was nominated for two Oscars.
