Board Welcomes New Members
The College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) welcomes two more distinguished alumni to its Dean's Advisory Board (DAB). Dr. Christopher Barley '89 and Christian "Chris" Andrews '87 join more than 30 alumni, parents and friends who serve as stewards and advocates for the College, providing guidance to Dean Behzad Mortazavi while helping develop resources to advance A&S' strategic goals.

Meet the new DAB members
Christian "Chris" Andrews '87
Andrews is a motion picture talent agent at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), a leading entertainment and sports agency founded in 1975 with global expertise in filmed and live entertainment. He represents some of the entertainment industry's most acclaimed actors, including Daniel Craig, Nicole Kidman, Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Jodie Foster and Barbra Streisand. He not only brings keen insight into the film industry, but also the valuable perspective of a first-generation college student. Andrews graduated from Syracuse with a dual degree in writing and sociology. He began his career working in a mailroom at ICM Partners before joining CAA in 2006. Andrews has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences since 2010, serving in the Executive branch, and has served on the USC School of Dramatic Arts Board of Councilors since 2018.
Dr. Christopher Barley '89
Barley is a board-certified internist with a private practice in New York City and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. He is president of CITTA, a nonprofit organization providing healthcare, education and economic development to underserved communities worldwide. Under his leadership, CITTA operates hospitals in India, Nepal and Mexico and serves more than 450,000 of the world's poorest people. The organization's approach emphasizes sustainability, employing local people, building infrastructure and empowering women and girls through education. Barley has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor, a peer-nominated designation for leading physicians, for more than a decade. He graduated from A&S with a degree in biology and received his medical degree from George Washington University.
