Jeff Pitt has been appointed senior director of client services for Information Technology Services (ITS). In his new role, Jeff provides leadership focused on advancing One IT initiatives in Syracuse University schools and colleges across campus. Prior to this, Pitt served as director of information technologies at the College of Arts and Sciences, where he skillfully developed and oversaw a 7-person computing services team that provided hands-on support for more than 600 faculty and staff, as well as 1,600 classroom and personal computers. Just a few accomplishments from Pitt’s 29-year tenure with A&S include the establishment of a cyclic equipment budget and program; management of captive classroom technology and assisting faculty to grow the research computing environment to more than 200 research servers; and the instantaneous deployment of 100+ laptops and cameras at the start of the COVID pandemic, including the reconfiguring of every A&S on-campus desktop for remote access.

With Pitt’s new role, Lisa Hanley has been promoted to associate director of information technologies for the College of Arts and Sciences. In this capacity, Hanley leads the College’s Computing Services Group and oversees day-to-day operations that include computer support and lifecycle replacements for faculty and staff, leading the Windows 11 migration and supporting research computing efforts within the College. Hanley is a 24-year veteran of A&S/SU who has played an instrumental role in providing a stable computer environment for faculty and staff, managing IT projects and providing information security as the College’s Information Coordinator. She also brings experience from former positions at NYSERNet/AppliedTheory and Computerland/Learning Technology Group.

Both promotions became effective on October 1, 2024.
