Napolitano will identify and fill gaps in the college’s content marketing strategy, as well as produce a variety of digital and traditional marketing materials. She will also work with Malboeuf to develop a content strategy supporting the college’s Academic Strategic Plan and complementing the Division of Marketing and Communications (DMC)’s University-wide strategic goals.

A graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a master’s degree in communications, Napolitano brings a wealth of cross-sector experience to A&S. She previously worked in DMC as a project manager for Syracuse University’s schools and colleges. As the primary contact for communicators from 11 units, she ensured their mission-critical projects subscribed to Syracuse’s brand guidelines and high production standards.

“I am excited to have Diana join our team,” Malboeuf says. “With her wide-ranging background in marketing, advancement and project management, she will play a critical role in helping us achieve our strategic goals. Her writing experience will be particularly beneficial, as we develop and hone our content strategy.”

As a content creator, Napolitano has supported a variety of initiatives in Syracuse University’s Division of Advancement and External Affairs, including Orange Central, Coming Back Together, Make Your Mark and Boost the ’Cuse. She has created unique content for the web, email, social media, e-newsletters, print and digital brochures, appeal letters and news releases, all resulting in significant increases in fundraising and other forms of measurable engagement.

Napolitano began her Syracuse University career in the Office of Government and Community Relations, eventually becoming associate director of government relations. In this role, she helped advance institutional priorities at the local, state and federal levels.

Her nonprofit experience extends to tourism promotion. From 2004 to 2006, she handled research and public and media relations (including arranging media tours for travel writers) for the Syracuse Convention & Visitors Bureau. Before that, she held positions with two prominent Syracuse-based advertising agencies.

"The College of Arts and Sciences holds special meaning for me,” says Napolitano, who earned a bachelor’s degree in linguistics from the University of Rochester. “I have the deepest respect for the transformative power of a liberal arts education. I look forward to helping current and prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni and our community partners discover—or rediscover—the immense intellectual treasure that is A&S.”

The Office of Communications provides leadership and direction for advancing the college’s liberal arts mission. The office collaborates with DMC to raise Syracuse’s profile, while supporting the institutional vision, mission and strategic plan.
