The College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) continues to develop philanthropic resources for its students and faculty with the appointment of Rebecca Resig as director of development.

Resig brings more than a decade of professional experience to the position, and will work with alumni to support A&S’ strategic and financial goals. Some key focus areas include improved access to a Syracuse education through increased financial aid, expanded experiential learning opportunities for A&S students, and enhanced funding for research and scholarship in the sciences and humanities.

“Rebecca has excelled in building sustainable business and donor relationships. With her entrepreneurial and creative spirit, she is a great addition to our team, especially as the University prepares for its upcoming campaign,” says John Quigley, assistant dean for advancement in A&S.

“I am thrilled to be part of A&S, the University’s oldest and largest college,” Resig says. “There are so many exciting things happening here—the new Office of Undergraduate Academic and Career Advising, an experiential learning initiative and innovative interdisciplinary research programs—that I can’t wait to start talking to our alumni about ways they can get involved.”

“Rebecca will build deep and meaningful connections with more alumni, engaging them in the life of the College,” Quigley adds.

In her previous position, Resig served as assistant director of the University’s Leadership Annual Giving program since 2017. In that capacity, she helped launch its first donor giving network, the Hill Society.

Before coming to Syracuse University, Resig worked in membership and individual giving for public broadcaster WCNY, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse and United Way of Central New York.

The Fayetteville resident also has worked for Temple Adath Yeshurun, where she is a board member. She is a graduate of the University at Buffalo, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

Resig is a member of Syracuse University’s Advancement and External Affairs Inclusion and Diversity Committee and serves on the boards of Baltimore Woods Nature Center and Syracuse Hebrew Day School.
