There Goes the Neighborhood
Course looks at racial residential segregation through historical, political lens
Kishi Animashaun Ducre, assistant professor of African American studies and an expert on race, class, and gender stratification, teaches "There Goes the Neighborhood: U.S. Racial Residential Segregation" (AAS 413). This video provides a firsthand look at one of The College's more compelling courses, which explores race relations and segregagtion in large U.S. metropolitan areas.
Ducre is also the author of A Place We Call Home: Gender, Race, and Justice in Syracuse (SU Press, 2012). A committed advocate for environmental justice, she previously worked as a toxics campaigner for Greenpeace.
