B.A. in Statistics is recommended for students who intend to pursue a career in a field that requires quantitative training with an emphasis in statistics. B.A. in Statistics coursework can be divided into two levels: preliminary (7 courses, 25 credits) and advanced (6 courses, 18 credits). The preliminary courses, which are the same for B.A. and B.S. degrees, include elementary statistics, calculus, and linear algebra. At the advanced level, students acquire deeper knowledge of probability and statistics. Half of advanced courses can be chosen from a list of electives based on a student’s interests.
