Coronat seniors Olutoyin Green ‘26, Valeria Martinez Gutierrez ‘26, Wafiq Khondkar ‘26 and Nathan Torabi ‘26 received the honor of being named Remembrance Scholars for the 2025-26 academic year.

In the wake of the Pan Am 103 tragedy, Syracuse University made a lasting promise: to honor the lives lost, especially the 35 students returning from study abroad, through education and remembrance.

Each year, 35 Remembrance Scholars and two Lockerbie Scholars embody that commitment. These students lead campus-wide efforts to reflect on the impact of terrorism, foster dialogue and strengthen the bond between Syracuse and Lockerbie. The motto of Remembrance, “look back, act forward,” channels the importance of reflecting and learning from the past to create a better future.

Remembrance week for the 2025-26 academic year will be from October 19 to 25. See the complete list of Remembrance Scholars.
