Forensics Instructor Discusses Super Bowl Security

Corri Zoli was quoted in a USA Today article on the importance of collaboration to ensure a safe Super Bowl.

A recent USA Today article explored the extensive security preparations for Super Bowl LX, detailing the complex, multi‑agency effort involving federal, state and local authorities. The coverage highlighted the many layers of precaution—from bomb‑sniffing dogs and advanced surveillance systems to radiation monitoring and coordinated emergency response planning.

Corri Zoli, a part‑time instructor in Syracuse University’s Forensic and National Security Sciences Institute (FNSSI), provided expert insight into the importance of unified agency collaboration during such a high‑profile event. Zoli emphasized that maintaining strong working relationships across agencies is essential for ensuring public safety when the world’s attention is focused on one venue.

“There shouldn’t be a wedge in the ability to collaborate,” Zoli said in the article. “Nobody wants to see a public safety crisis in the middle of the Super Bowl with the whole world watching.”
