Elizabeth Carter, assistant professor of Earth and environmental sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences and civil and environmental engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science, was featured in an ABC News article discussing the effects of reduced precipitation in the Northeast. A significant lack of rainfall during the fall months led to lower water levels in the region's reservoirs, raising concerns among water supply managers.
"This would be a low level that we would expect to see less than once every 100 years," Carter said in the article.
